there was a solar eclipse over asia last week. in taipei, we witnessed only a partial eclipse but it was still quite the spectacle, with heads all over the city held pointed to the sky. taken in front of my school:

stumbled across a neighborhood coffee shop that a friend actually took me to last year: mo!relax. and it’s open ’til 4am everyday. useful, especially since the internet connection at my apartment is spotty as hell (it’s been down all day).
a 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck off the eastern coast of taiwan last night. i had just arrived home and the swaying began. in an attempt at slight defiance, i started swaying in the opposite direction of the room. earth was not amused and continued to shift its plates and i headed for underneath my desk.
